A Practical Solution for Three Outdoor Decking Areas
When Palmerston North homeowner Rodney planned to upgrade his outdoor spaces, he needed a decking solution that was easy to install and flexible enough to accommodate different areas of his property.
The project included a main deck built around a spa pool, a smaller deck at the back door and a deck at the front entrance.
Using TreadTech's TreadFrame aluminium deck framing system and adjustable TreadJacks, Rodney successfully completed the installation himself, with layout and installation plans prepared by the TreadTech team.
Designed to Suit the Space
The main deck, measuring approximately 18.25m², required a customised layout to accommodate the spa pool, with decking boards running lengthwise and a picture-frame border.
Another consideration was the limited height available between the concrete substrate and the doorway, making accurate planning and height adjustment important.
The TreadTech team worked with Rodney to confirm the dimensions, spa positioning and installation requirements before preparing layout plans to guide the build.
Framing without welding
TreadFrame aluminium deck framing provided a lightweight, straight and stable alternative to traditional timber framing.
Combined with adjustable TreadJacks, the system offered the flexibility needed to accommodate the different decking areas and achieve a level substructure for the decking boards.
With the installation plans and support from TreadTech, Rodney was able to complete all three decking areas himself.
